Well, it took until Week 15, but we finally saw an NFL team clinch a playoff spot. That said, there are still a whopping 13 playoff spots yet to be wrapped up, so NFL fans have plenty to look forward to the next few weeks as nearly three-quarters of the NFL’s teams are still in the 2021 NFL playoff race.

Most of the teams in the NFL are fighting for something. Even the team to clinch a postseason berth — the Packers, who clinched the NFC North — are still battling a few of the other NFC contenders for the No. 1 seed, so they aren’t done with clinching scenarios yet either. They don’t have one in Week 16, but seven other NFL teams have playoff spots on the line.

Five division titles can be clinched in Week 16. The Patriots, Buccaneers, Chiefs, Cowboys and Titans can all wrap up a top-four seed in their conference. Tampa Bay has the easiest path to clinching, as they just have to earn a victory, but either way, a lot will be in play during this week’s NFL action.

The AFC is still wide open compared to the NFC, and it seems unlikely that we will have a resolution to the AFC’s three Wild Card spots until the final week of the season. Just how crazy is the AFC? If the Browns had beaten the Raiders last week, they’d be in first place in the AFC North and in the No. 4 seed in the postseason race. However, they lost and tumbled all the way to 12th in the conference.

As chaos reigns in the AFC, things are a bit more settled in the NFC, where four teams are on the verge of clinching playoff spots in addition to the Packers. Fans will closely watch the NFC West battle between the Rams and Cardinals while the No. 7 seed and final Wild Card spot remains wide open.

Here are all of the NFL playoff clinching scenarios for teams that can guarantee themselves a postseason berth in Week 16. And also, a complete look at the NFL playoff picture.
