Wednesday, Dec. 15 is a date that all NBA fans should have circled on their calendar.

Why, you ask?

Because it is the first day that many players who signed contracts in the offseason are eligible to be traded. This date doesn’t apply to all players who signed a new deal – John Collins, Duncan Robinson and Derrick Rose are among the more notable players who can’t be traded until Jan. 15 because of a certain wrinkle in the contract they signed, per Hoops Rumors – but it applies to the majority of players.

Deemed as the unofficial start of trade season, Dec. 15 marks the first day where we may begin to see some actual traction behind trade rumors, like the Ben Simmons saga in Philadelphia and the Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner reports in Indiana.
