When we got my family dog, Bella, it was a year after my mum had passed away and she kept us going. So when we brought home Edie she was the cherry on top, I’ve always wanted another dog as Josie is so pupper orientated and thrives.

How Luna Brought Joy to Our Home

Something or someone drew me to her and I just knew she needed us. What we didn’t know is how much we needed her. Since bringing her home we’ve renamed her Breezy because she’s easy breezy, or ‘Nana’ because she is such a loving and motherly dog. She now loves fetch! She loves to wrestle and run with other dogs, has become one of the Larson pack, loves seeing her puppy and human cousins, loves going up north, and especially loves the neighbors.

She makes our bad days good and our good days better. Everyone who gives her a chance loves her! Getting a rescue dog can be a wild card, but we hit the lottery.

She has been our little ray of sunshine. She’s so different from any dog either of us have had, but she has certain qualities our old boy had which brings us so much laughter and delight. Our remaining old boy has a new lease on life, he’s lost 2 pounds (as a chihuahua, that’s huge), and she forces us to get outside and just enjoy playing. She’s our little angel baby and we can’t imagine life without her, and we know our old boy would have absolutely loved her (and hated her energy level!).

Daisy’s Rescue Story

Daisy was found as a stray after being attacked by another dog. Rescue workers believe she was bred to be a bait dog. Having Daisy around has been a huge help this past year with NB’s speech. They are such best friends and Daisy sleeps at NB’s feet every night. Charlie: The Dog Who Saved Us

Charlie’s Rescue

We got Charlie after my friend, who has a family member that runs a dog rescue, kept hounding us to meet this dog that she had been spending a lot of time with when she visited. He was picked up as a stray in San Diego, only 40 pounds, and covered in ticks. He spent a while in the ICU in an O2 tent and with a feeding tube, and then had to get a non-cancerous tumor removed from his leg. Despite his rough start, Charlie’s spirit was unbroken.

Charlie’s Heroic Acts

Charlie’s boundless love for life and his very fluffy pants have wormed his way into our hearts. Especially my sister, who’s never been too crazy about dogs, has been amazing with him. Even though he can be quite the handful (he’s a Red Heeler/Husky cross so he has tons of energy), he has shown us what true resilience looks like. He’s the gorgeous dog who was starving, whittled away to bones, after having been left by the side of the road in a crate to die.

Our Life with Charlie

Since adopting Charlie, our lives have changed in ways we never imagined. His energy and love for life have brought a new dynamic to our home. He adores people, loves the snow, and will give you the biggest smiles you’ve ever seen. Charlie loves to cuddle next to you and bring you his toys. Heartwarming stories of canine heroism, inspiring rescue and adoption tales, and accounts of dogs overcoming adversity have a special place in our hearts now. Charlie has truly become a part of our family, and we can’t imagine life without him.

It took time, patience, and a lot of love to help him feel safe and secure in his new home. Rocky’s transformation from a frightened stray to a loving family member is nothing short of miraculous.

Building trust with Rocky was a gradual process. We established routines and set boundaries to help him feel more comfortable. It was heartwarming to see him slowly come out of his shell and start to trust us. We celebrated every small victory, from his first wagging tail to his first snuggle on the couch. Rocky’s journey taught us the importance of patience and unconditional love.

Milo’s Journey to Happiness

Milo’s Rescue

When we first laid eyes on Milo, he was a timid and frail dog, clearly in need of a loving home. His transformation from a scared rescue to a joyful companion has been nothing short of miraculous. We found Milo at a local shelter, where he had been waiting for his forever home for months. The moment we met him, we knew he was the one.

Settling In with Milo

Fast forward to us taking him home. We were so worried about him being scared and apprehensive. Instead, he walked through the door like he owned the place. Within minutes, he was snuggling with us on the couch, smiling, and exploring. It wasn’t until we got him a tennis ball about a week later that his true personality came out. Something lit up inside him and he turned into a puppy. Since then, Milo has become an integral part of our family, bringing joy and laughter into our lives every day.
